The key domestic indices remained steady during the noon trading session with the Sensex up 65 points, holding the gains amid buying interest in index heavyweights including Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Cipla, Wipro, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank among others. Sentiments remained up- beat on CII report that India can achieve 6.5 percent economic growth in the next financial year if a strong reform-minded government comes to power after the upcoming parliament elections. Further, Capital inflows by foreign funds and appreciating rupee also steadied the sentiments. The rupee was trading at 59.70/71 versus Friday's close of 59.91/92 as bunched-up dollar inflows and record high domestic shares aid sentiment. Earlier, tracking a firm trend in markets across Asia and a positive closing at Wall Street overnight, the domestic bourses belled the day on positive note today amid strong foreign fund inflows and higher optimism from general election 2014 Sector wise, Auto, Healthcare and Oil and Gas took the lead today while FMCG witness some profit booking after a recent rally in the market. Even Small cap and Midcap sectors were up by nearly 1% and joined the party today. Our markets have seen a huge rally in the recently, mainly driven by liquidity from FIIs in the front line stocks and as election approaches from next week onwards, we may see some pause in the market, especially in the index based stocks and we may see range bound move in the same, but now outside index stocks may perform better in the anticipation of strong govt. in the center after forthcoming general election 2014.
